DRUPAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY NEBRASKA HOW TO
Very few folks on the team knew enough to explain how to do things, and the Drupal foundation didn't do a great job of answering the phone-they overrcharged us for support through their commercial company, Acquia instead.Accenture Federal Services, bringing together commercial innovation with the latest technology to unleash the potential for our federal clients. Multi-language websites (internationalization) were painful and confusing. Bugs were everywhere when we tried to do something as simple as backup/migrate. Half-baked modules powered our sites sometimes a module's creator would abandon the effort and it would cost us thousands of dollars in lost revenue. The community around it is astoundingly good. There were very few things we couldn't accomplish with Drupal. Permissions and user accounts were managed via oAuth. Most of the functionality was either baked in, or was available via 3rd party module install. It was easy to deliver content to our thousands of resellers, capture leads and form data, roll out branded features in record time and host media blogs and video content. Had I a chance to do it over, I probably would've just rolled a Wordpress site.

It took me a while to get used to Drupal and understand how it works.Ĭommentaires : Somewhat positive. It also has a complex structure and workflow that requires a lot of planning and configuration. It has a lot of jargon and terminology that can be confusing and overwhelming. Drupal is not very user-friendly or intuitive, especially for non-developers. One of the main issues I had with Drupal was the learning curve.

Drupal also has a great performance and security, which is important for our site’s reputation and growth. I was able to create custom modules and themes for our site, as well as integrate it with third-party services like YouTube, Mailchimp, and Google Analytics. Drupal was the perfect choice for us because it had everything we needed and more.As a developer with experience in enterprise CMS, I found Drupal very easy to use and customize. We also wanted to have features like forums, chat, polls, quizzes, events, and newsletters. We wanted to build a platform where people can share their favorite songs, albums, artists, playlists, and more. I used Drupal to create an online community for music lovers with my friends as a side hustle project in the past. WordPress does this better and manages to continually keep sites upgradeable without a rebuild. Platforms should be supported for at least ten years IMO, the web has been stable for a while now and there's no good reason to force complete rebuilds. That may be fine for enterprise, but it sucks for someone who makes lots of small sites for small businesses. I also strongly, STRONGLY dislike that sites created five years ago now HAVE to be rebuilt, or they are not secure. It requires a fairly beefy hosting setup and a good caching setup to perform well. With WordPress, I constantly have to fight against styling and strangely formatted HTML inserted by plugins, and that's less common with Drupal modules. I also really appreciate that most of the modules don't make too many assumptions.

It's really, really close to a visual programming language, although there are still some things you'll need to break out the code for. However with Views, you can make advanced applications with a pretty easy to learn interface. Pre-Views, Drupal is a decent CMS, perhaps a bit more logical than WordPress, but with a lot less users it's hard to justify it.

Commentaires : I like it a lot but because of their update cycle it should only be used on projects that have a lifespan of 5 years or less.
