I suppose it must be able to, but I normally setup different profiles in neat image - for different images. I agree also that with severe noise you will lose 's a compromise, again a lot will depend on the image texture, contrast etc. Batch or selective use is possible in both LR (synchronize feature) and PS (preset batch feature), see the help info. No, but I would to compliment Neat Image as described above - if it were half the price they are asking - just for those rare occaisions where I need to squeeze out every bit from an image.įorget critical.never a worry on this form, I did some more fiddling and now feel there is little if any major difference between DeJpeg & LR.(with respect to JPG files) careful use of either can be very effective and a big benefit, especially using the A2 above 100iso. With neat image I find the photos that I take most effective when a small amount of 'grain' is left, this seems to leave image detail at its best.īut my very best results so far have been with using Topaz AND Neat Image seperately on the original file, layering the results from both and using 50% bleed through from each. Neat image doesn't remove all the noise quite so well, but it 'manages' it better in my opinion. For my moth and butterfly nature shots I dont go a lot on it, however with some subjects it looks quite good. It certainly removes noise, but also seems to remove a lot of fine detail. Just to say that I have also been testing Topaz4 with the A2 - and the jury is still out.

I'll go see what I can find on Neat Image.

That's why I was very hopeful of DeJPEG.Īssuming you find general settings from your manual noise adjustments of A2 images - a different "rule" than that used in Dejpeg, how would one automate/batch process that rule?īy "bleed through" do you mean setting transperancy at 50% on one or the other, and merging the files? When I've tried it, I found it difficult going. Please don't think I'm being critical of your efforts - I know it's not easy to do with the sliders. 'Your best Photo should be viewed with a biased eye' I'll be experimenting some more with noise control as the results have been most effective on my A2, also I'll see if there is a better result possible with these images and wood will be a good way to learn the manual controls The auto mode of DeJpeg appears to work so.so, it's just that I think a common or auto correction is only practical on very similar images, like social snaps, light, color and use of DOF presents special conditions for each image which would no doubt benefit more with manual noise controls.

When making the adjustments I concentrated on the Brandy box and not the wood as that was my focus point.I'm sure with careful use of the manual controls in either DeJpeg or LR a better result is possible. I'm very much a RAW shooter when it comes to the A2 so DeNoise and LR are more interesting.

LR3b2 is very much a manual process and learning effect and results is a matter of trial and error. It's clear that DeNoise is for raw images as DeJpeg is to JPG images so there would be a similar effect and result. I tried to keep my adjustments simple.I did not dwell long on each image. I had a a lot of images to sort and it is possible a mistake was made. Renato, bear in mind that I have limited experience in much of this type of work and doubly so using the Topaz software, still learning.
